He "adopted" Susan, Hans & Moses [ a 140 pound Rottweiler ] circa 2008 - simultaneous of the time that  President Obama visited Asheville, NC - to prepare for the second Presidential debate - with Senator McCain.   Basically, Susan, Moses and Hans were in their "log home" - and, Merlin appeared [ like magic ] one day.  Pixie-Bobs do this.   "Merlin" is Susan's cat - the 4-legged kind >
